One of the few South Australian beaches where you can legally drive your car onto the sand, a broad flat stretch perfect for kite-flying and sunset-watching.
Drive-on sand
Aldinga Beach is one of the few beaches in South Australia where you can legally drive your 2WD car onto the sand (subject to conditions). The beach is a broad, flat, firm stretch of beige sand running for several kilometres - ideal for beach walks, kite-flying, surf fishing and setting up for sunset.
Aldinga Reef
The Aldinga Reef Aquatic Reserve, a rich snorkelling and diving area, extends offshore and is popular for reef diving.
Getting there
Drive-on access is via the end of Esplanade. Check tide and local conditions before driving onto the sand.
